On a current software installed MacBook Pro, I've tried to block Bing in Terminal, and have no virus' / malware found with the standard apps (I did have some malware, it's deleted now). No extensions are listed in my preferences, I'd be quite happy never seeing Bing again. Google continues to redirect to Bing, so I'm unable to use it at all. I've looked for recent software / apps downloads, and not seeing anything. Having an easy block feature like on iPhones / iPads would be helpful in the desktop software.
I now consider Bing to be malware, even though it may not be their fault.
